A Two-Dimensional Guidance Strategy to Fabricate Perovskite Gadolinium Aluminate Ceramic Film

Gadolinium aluminate is an effective host for doping with various ions, and it can emit colors. However, not easy to prepare transparent ceramics of gadolinium using traditional methods, although are very suitable solid lighting. In this work, a two-dimensional guidance strategy has been successfully carried out perovskite-structured ceramic film. Through the interfacial reaction, GdAlO3:Eu3+ (GAP:Eu3+) films were fabricated nanosheets exfoliated from layered hydroxide, rare earth source. The final tested by characterization techniques, including XRD, SEM, TEM, FT-IR, PLE/PL spectroscopy, temperature-dependent PL luminescence decay analysis. perovskite film be obtained calcining LRH on substrate amorphous alumina at 1550 °C in air reaction time 2 h. During interface element diffusion takes dominant role, increased reactants take increasing calcination temperature. grain only 2–5 μm, which much smaller than that bulk ceramic. This mainly due lower temperature diffusion. Ceramic high transmittance larger 90% visible range. Upon UV excitation 254 nm, exhibits intense emission red wavelength outcomes described work may have wide implications rare-earth hydroxides.
